CIDB Registration is the process where a construction company applies to be listed on the national CIDB contractor database. Your company is then given a CIDB Grade (from 1 to 9), which shows:
- Your financial capacity
- Your experience
- What size of projects you’re allowed to take on
Most new companies start at Grade 1.
Why Is It Important?
Government departments will not award work to contractors who are not CIDB registered.
Your CIDB Grade determines the size and value of contracts you can apply for, from small (Grade 1) to large (Grade 3+).
Being registered shows your company is legitimate, compliant, and capable of handling construction work.
Many large companies, mines, and developers require contractors to have CIDB registration.
